This is a ministry mandated by the Holy Scriptures (Phil 1:1; 1 Tim 3:8,12). The functions and responsibilities of this ministry include the following lines of service:

1) Serve as a point of contact between the Pastor and the Congregation.

2) Assist the Pastor in his pastoral functions, which include evangelism, teaching, counseling, prayer and discipline.

3) Assist the Pastor in the supervision of other ministries, congregational groups.

4) Visit the sick, new believers and visitors.

5) Promote the formation of a deep spirituality in the Congregation, providing leadership in prayer, the study of the Word, and a life of holiness and consecration.

6) Represent the Pastor and the Church in external meetings.
To be deeply involved with the life of the Congregation, and to be informed about its needs and characteristics.

7) Assist the Pastor in ministering during services, during times of intercession; pray in public and in private for the sick and needy.

8) Assist the pastoral body in fulfilling the strategic plan and the mission.

9) Serve in any area of need in the Congregation.
